To capture sound for the bikes I clipped the mic to a shrub right next to the trail but I also clip the mic to myself if I know I have to follow the action. It's not a great solution (beware of sniffles and talking to yourself) but the built-in HV20 mic is pretty poor and I'm not totally happy with our shotgun (even before the clip broke last week).

A nice thing about our setup: the Sennheiser receiver plugs into the M-Audio mini-jack, which can be very useful.</description>
